WHAT YOU'LL DO

Assists Accounting Management with support of operational projects, compensation and tax analytics and reporting. Represents Payroll Tax group in cross-functional project teams and processes. Maintains Workday Payroll Tax system changes and additions to codes. Assists with training, supervising, and coordinating activities of the Payroll Tax Senior including the submissions and reconciliations of payroll tax payments and filings through ADP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the review and corrections of tax form data in Experian to ensure correct flow of state/local tax jurisdictions into Workday.

  • Run and review daily periodic and quarterly ADP tax sync – balance to Workday for taxable wages and taxes. Correct unresolved exceptions in ADP from data feed including registration of new jurisdictions if needed.

  • Responsible for compensation and benefit end of month entries and reconciliations in General Ledger, to include Non-Qualified plans, 401k/employer match, HSA plans, Flex Spending, Group Health Benefit plans, payroll withholding orders, and payroll accruals/deferrals for end of month Accounting close.

  • Responsible for the review and approval of Payroll tax journals and account reconciliations including payroll tax clearing, tax prepaid, and tax liability accounts.

  • Assist Payroll with calls received from employees concerning payroll tax questions. Research discrepancies and takes appropriate action to rectify issues. Provide taxable wage and tax information to Payroll for corrections to be entered if needed.

  • Assists in training and supervising the Senior Payroll Tax Coordinator. Provides back-up support for the other payroll tax duties as needed to include State and Local tax reviews and updates in Workday and ADP new registrations; PA local payment and filings; assists in troubleshooting and resolving complex payroll tax issues.

  • Assist in preparation of State and Local W2’s for submission to authorities at calendar year-end.

  • Maintains and generates various reports for the Tax department, Internal Audit, and external auditors.

  • Responsible for all tax audits (Federal, State, and Local) – working with auditors and providing requested information.

  • Ad hoc research, reporting, project work as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Experience and Education

  • B.S in Business or Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting.

  • Excel and data analysis skills.

  • Proficient computer skills.

  • Conflict navigation skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Auditing skills

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal wage and hour laws, and local, state and federal taxation laws.

  • Preferred knowledge of ADP or similar third-party tax preparer.

  • Preferred knowledge of Workday.
